The bottle gourd is an annual runner that can cling to trellises or any other solid support. Frost-sensitive, it likes deep, rich soil and warm, sunny locations.

Uses : This variety of pilgrim gourd is used to make decorative objects, gourds or
utensils. Leave to dry in a warm place, and the flesh will absorb on its own.
Sowing : Sow in warm pots in spring and transplant to a sunny spot in mid-May. Sow in pots directly in the field when the soil has warmed up and frosts are no longer a threat.
