Marshmallow is a perennial plant that can grow up to 2 m tall. It is hardy and thrives in rich, moist, deep soil. Its pale pink, hibiscus-like flowers bloom from July to September.

Uses : Marshmallow leaves, flowers and roots are edible and medicinal. They have emollient, healing and soothing properties. The root is the source of the famous confection.
Sowing : Sow in pots after the last frosts or in the field from May to July.
