In the Middle Ages, mullein, also known as white broth, was used in a variety of ways: the flowers soothed
bronchial tubes, the leaves were used as toilet paper and the flowering stems were used to make candles.

Mullein is a biennial plant growing up to 1.5 m tall. It forms a rosette of leaves the first year, then flowers the following year, forming a flowering spike filled with small yellow flowers. It adapts to all types of soil in a sunny spot.
Uses : Leaves and flowers are edible and medicinal. They have emollient and expectorant properties, particularly useful for the respiratory tract.
Sowing : Broadcast in spring after the last frost or in autumn. Once in place, it will self-sow.
