In the Middle Ages, yarrow was known as the “herb of a hundred virtues”, as it was used to treat a wide range of ailments. Its name comes from the legend of Achilles, who is said to have healed his army’s wounds with this plant’s healing properties.

A hardy perennial that’s very easy to grow, it thrives in all types of soil as long as they’re well drained and exposed to sunlight. It flowers from May to October, attracting pollinators.

Uses : A very powerful medicinal plant, to take full advantage of its powers, you can drink it as an herbal tea, make healing balms or eat its young leaves as an aromatic.

Sowing : Sow in pots from March to June and replant in the garden in autumn, or directly in the ground in autumn for earlier flowering. It can be part of a flower meadow and resow on its own.
