Cherry bowl
Beech bowl turned on a pole lathe by Gary Baker, Guédelon's woodturner.
This porringer is made from greenwood, ie wood that wasn't completely dry at the moment it was turned.
The gentle warping of these bowls is a natural feature of the drying process after they have been turned and makes each bowl unique.
The tool marks are characteristic of a bowl turned on a pole lathe using hook tools.
Sealed with linseed oil.
Wash in hot soapy water. Not dishwashable.
Can be occasionally re-oiled.
